I met Kylie and Jake at the Chocolate in Orem for their free wedding consultation, and I immediately fell in love with them. Kylie's sweet Texan charm and Jake's obvious admiration for Kylie made the perfect couple. I first met them at The Chocolate in Orem, Ut, where I heard their sweet proposal story.
Jake had decided that he was going to propose, although Kylie had her suspicions that it would happen soon. They were going to go on a date to Comedy Sports in Provo, UT! Jake had made an arrangement previously that they would be picked to play one of the games and that is when he would ask her to marry him! He was even able to coordinate some family and friends to be there! So they both ended up on stage, she turned around and there he was on one knee with a ring. And of course, she said yes!!
We then discussed the formal session. We were so excited to do bridals at Tibble Fork. As the day grew closer, it started raining! Unfortunately, rain and bridals don't really go together. So we searched for other options. I have shot at the Loft Studio in Lehi, and I knew it would be perfect for this winter bridal session.
The exposed brick and rustic look made the perfect location for this perfect couple. I was able to spend time with both of them individually before their first look and both of them were so excited to see the other. And then they both saw each other, and it was like they could relax again. They were both with each other, and all is well in the world. These two could not stop ogling each other. They both kept saying how lucky they were to get to marry each other. And after knowing Jake and Kylie, I can only say that they are so incredibly lucky that they met and married each other.

The Hafen family has gone through a lot of trials before sweet baby Owen was born. Shanda suffered through several miscarriages between her sweet girl Aria and Owen. It was such a struggle and Shanda was kind enough to share some words with me about her experience with bringing Owen to the world that I would love to share. Her words about her love for her babies here on earth and in heaven are ones of hope. And I loved reading her experience. I hope you will too.
I absolutely love in-home family sessions. Especially when there is a new baby involved. As some of you know, I used to be more of a styled newborn photographer. I would put naked babies in cute and adorable poses, wrap them up in swaddles and put them in baskets. I think the styled newborn photography, is absolutely adorable. It is definitely a work of art. And it's a lot of work. I recently have changed to a more lifestyle type of photography and I am loving it!
The Day family, in my opinion, is one of the cutest families in all of Utah. They are everything a family photographer could ever dream of! Their style, that red hair, those snuggles, and kisses made everything perfect.
One of my favorite things to do when I have family sessions, is to get mom and dad away for a second. I love taking engagement like photos of the mom and dad because I think it is so important for parents to be able to look at pictures of them in love. When you are married for awhile, you don't take time to take kissy selfies. It's all about the kids! I know that, because I fall into the same rut. But when I get moms and dads in front of the camera, there is a whole new vibe to the shoot. It is so important for children to see their parents in love!
When I was pregnant with my second little guy, my friends, Talon and Emily announced that they were pregnant too!! In the span of just 3 months, there were 4 of us girls in our group of friends that were pregnant! Three of us with boys!
Jory and Brooke always knew of each other, but it wasn't until right before Jory left on his mission that the crush started. All those years ago at Cafe Rio, he saw her and asked for her number. He texted her, but nothing really came of it. Then he came home, and she left for her mission. Then she came back and he remembered her!
